In Gratitude & In Coffee We Trust
Our hearts are full as we plan for the 3/19 launch celebration!
We are nine days away from the seedling of Rooted Resilience bursting its way through the soil to receive the bounty of light ready to shine all over its tendrils - the Sanctuary stage lights and the interactive lights of the Rainbow Room of Bombyx that is! We will have much to offer from our respective hearts that evening, however we also wanted to take a moment here, in this last stretch, to pause and give gratitude . . . before this sacred entity that we have co-created with so many beautiful, thoughtful, fierce, loving and truly joyful beings, is released into the world.
Our Gratitude
From Luc: Sharing a large amount of work (during a mercury retrograde) is slightly daunting unto itself. Doing so in service of (and in front of) a community that I admire and respect deeply feels like a trust fall into the kind of vulnerability that I see reflected in the artists and organizers we’ve met with in creating our first podcast season.
At various points throughout my professional life, I’ve been in the privileged position of being able to support creative people and bring greater visibility and understanding to artists and works that might otherwise remain undervalued and under-appreciated. I have found that, for me, there’s no worthier cause.
Gratitude upon gratitude.
From M: Each moment of engagement with this process has given me a continued strength of purpose, ferocity of heart, and an even more tender love and deeper appreciation for the culture and community of this region. Today, I am deeply thankful for my colleague and close friend, Luc, who opened the doors to Bloom Local, and made space, unknowingly, for the growth of this friendship and this magical experience.
We stepped into this adventure with a commitment to joy, connection, self-respect, honesty, and humanness. We envisioned working together to co-create something meaningful that also provided each of us with the space to be whole in each moment. We leaned into the unknown together and have ridden the twists and turns - each of us showing up as who we were, whether that meant that we were falling apart or flying. You are, dear friend, a gift - to me and to this community - thank you for being who you are and for bringing this work to life with me.
And Now For Coffee.
Pssst. Did you know?! We have exciting news! If you’re joining us for our Opening Launch Celebration at Bombyx on Wednesday 3/19, SIP 413 will be in the Rainbow Room with delicious coffee and drinks! SIP 413 (formerly known as Zen Frog) in Florence, is queer and woman-owned business, and is a thriving and flourishing space for 2SLGBTQIA+ community and creatives.
From a curated selections of local queer art for purchase, to delicious coffee and tea drinks named with a little bit of sass, to their increasingly popular pastries and breakfast sandwiches, and their music, collage, and clothes exchange nights, they’re a home for our community. So we’ve invited them to join us for our opening celebration because after all, what is a party without some delicious beverages from our favorite queer coffee shop?!
