Last night we put the finishing touches on the first episode of the Rooted Resilience Podcast. To say that we are excited is an understatement! One year ago we were still sorting out the technology for how co-create a podcast and still in the formative stages of dreaming. Now our first podcast will be going LIVE this week in the same week that we will gather at the Bombyx Center for Arts & Equity for our Launch Celebration.
If you’re in need of queer music, queer art, queer theater, and queer authors, *this Wednesday* is a night to venture into the incoming Spring air and join us for an evening of magic in all forms, including tasty treats donated from our season sponsor Lemon Bakery, and from local community businesses - Tandem Bagel and Wild Chestnut Cafe. Our ever-favorite SIP 413 will also be on-hand with tasty drinks for sale!
Now for the details for how to engage with the full set of opportunities heading your way later this week!
LISTEN.
The Rooted Resilience Podcast. You’ll find Episode 1, featuring Indë Francis available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, Substack, and Pandora. New episodes will release on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. We won’t reveal the entire season to you just yet, but we will let you know that in April, you’ll hear from Jey and M of Yet Another Queer Pop-Up Market, and in May Corrie Locke-Hardy will be coming through the airwaves. Psst. Did you know that Corrie was actually our very first guest a year ago when we were just getting started?! Let’s just say that first interview was filled with laughter and a lot of technical mishaps ;) We’re forever grateful she was gracious enough to join us for a second interview once we had worked out some technological and formatting tangles.
EXPLORE.
The Substack Blog Archives. Find extended show notes and bonus content for each podcast episode, plus weekly project recaps here on our Substack. For each Creative that we feature on our podcast, there will be an opportunity to dive more deeply into their work and their inspirations via this blog/newsletter. Photos, videos, audio excerpts, links to additional resources. It will all live here! If you haven’t yet subscribed, here’s your reminder! And if you have, take a minute and share this Substack with your friends and family.
CONNECT.
Virtual Community Dialogue Circles. An invitation to explore resilience, identity, and community as you define them through your unique creative and personal history.
As a small group, we will engage with themes stemming from a recent episode of the (NEW) Rooted Resilience podcast and blog series. The Intention: to foster a culture of reflection, care, joy, and vulnerability among 2SLGBTQIA+ creatives and our allies as an act of resistance in these times.
Come as you are. Create a grounded and quiet space for yourself and others. Stray from doom-scrolling into a place of connection and rooting.
