Celebrating Intersectional Narratives: Rooted Resilience Receives Grant!
Join us as we embark on a journey to center and celebrate the voices of 2SLGBTQIA+ creatives in Western Massachusetts.
In January 2024, we came together to reflect on how many 2SLGBTQIA+ creatives, entrepreneurs, and leaders of intersectional identities within western MA hold deeply felt, wise, connected understandings of what it is to be here in this world, at this time, cultivating creativity, community and resilience.
We felt strongly that it was time for these intersectional narratives to be centered, celebrated, and preserved for current and future generations.
Today, we are thrilled to announce that Rooted Resilience, with fiscal sponsorship from Bombyx Center for Arts & Equity, has been awarded the highly competitive Expand Massachusetts Stories - Open Track 2024 grant in the amount of $19,140.00 from Mass Humanities. This funding, provided through the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC), aims to bring people together to embrace different perspectives, inspire civic engagement, spark conversation, and build community.
This grant brings us almost halfway to the full cost of production needed in our first year, serving as a solid anchor as we begin the process of centering the intersectional narratives of our 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
The road to this moment has been messy, uncharted, joyful, enriching, and deeply worthwhile. We invite you to join us on this journey, both here and on Instagram, as we embrace the joyful obligation of preserving our rich history.
P.S. Donations of any and all amounts to our crowdfunding campaign are still necessary, needed, welcomed, and tax-deductible.
With deep gratitude,
