The Connectivity of Community Care
Inside this Edition: Turning our gaze to how community care is showing up in the recording room. An episode preview with Indë of ArtbyIndë. Lots of launch excitement, too.
We belong to each other, now more than ever.
Today, we are turning our gaze to the lens of community care as we see it growing inside of this process: the queer magic that feeds our mycelium network.
As we’ve shared previously, we didn’t know what this project would really be when we began this work, or what landscape it would be growing in. As we near the end of February, we have interviewed more than half of our featured 2025 Creatives. What we find more fascinating than this progress (although we are proud of our work), is that each conversation reveals another magical root in the landscape of who we are as a community.
Our Creatives have been both known and new to us.
We witness and listen deeply, learning what has taken root, and what is nourishing them as artists/authors/activists.
We consider how we might care for them—in this process, and beyond.
We receive the gift of their embodied resilience in the room with us—and the knowing of how this ripples into our community.
We offer this platform to amplify their voices and creations.
This process and its outcomes are flooded with the queer magic of community care that moves through us to you.

Episode Preview: Indë, Multidisciplinary Artist & Educator
This week, we’re opening the Rooted Resilience audio vault to share another preview of our conversation and upcoming podcast episode featuring Indë (they/he).
Indë contends with American imperial systems of division, using multimedia compositions to combat the lynching, disenfranchisement, and misrepresentation of queer people of color. Their aspirations as an artist and educator are rooted in a love of creative problem-solving and an uncompromising commitment to advancing equity and media literacy.
We are deeply pleased to share that Indë will be performing at our Launch Celebration on March 19th at Bombyx Center for Arts & Equity in Florence, Massachusetts!

ICYMI: We've officially moved all major communications here to Substack.
…and you will find us inactive on Meta platforms going forward. We’ll decide soon how to handle the content currently on Meta, as part of archiving the project’s progress. From now on, all in-depth content will be shared here.
We are also newly on Bluesky which we will use to lift up the podcast, share project updates, and promote upcoming events.
We appreciate your continued interest and support for Rooted Resilience, and we hope that you’ll continue to spread the word to your communities!
