Project Receives ‘Expand Massachusetts Stories’ Grant Award from Mass Humanities
Earlier this week, we were thrilled to announce that Rooted Resilience, with fiscal sponsorship from Bombyx Center for Arts & Equity, was awarded the highly competitive Expand Massachusetts Stories - Open Track 2024 grant in the amount of $19,140.00 from Mass Humanities, which provided funding through the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC).
Mass Humanities seeks to bring people together to embrace different perspectives, inspire civic engagement, spark conversation and build community.
We are honored and so proud to be selected along with 63 other cultural nonprofit projects doing incredible work across the commonwealth. This award will aid us in sharing Rooted Resilience widely in a way that is sustainable and supported, expanding our impact significantly.

Growing Support for Rooted Resilience
The Rooted Resilience project is gaining traction! We’re excited to share that our grant award from Mass Humanities has brought us nearly halfway to fully funding the production of Season 1. Alongside this, our GoFundMe has started to pick up momentum, with $230 raised in community donations so far.
For those curious about where these funds go, production costs include:
Honoraria for our guests – to thank them for sharing their invaluable stories.
Equipment and space rentals – ensuring a high-quality listening experience.
Podcast editing and transcription – making the episodes accessible to all.
Discussion group facilitators – to help foster meaningful conversations.
Project advertising – to reach broader audiences.
And more!
While the grant has given us a strong foundation, we still need your help. Contributions of any amount are welcomed, appreciated, and tax-deductible thanks to our fiscal partnership with the Bombyx Center for Arts & Equity.
We understand these are incredibly challenging times, and many are being pulled to give to multiple causes and catastrophes. If financial support isn't feasible, you can still help us by sharing our posts (tap or click the button below), following us on social media, or spreading the word in your networks. Every action brings us closer to amplifying the voices of 2SLGBTQIA+ creatives in Western Massachusetts.
